Quick Christmas Morning Makeup!

Hello lovelies! Who else dreads waking up Christmas morning and having to face the camera while opening presents with your loved ones? Many people won't really mind, but this post is for the ladies who would like to feel a little more pulled together but don't have time to do a full face of makeup. I'm one of those ladies, so I put together a group of products that can be used to do a super quick makeup look so I don't hide behind my hands every time someone tries to snap a pic!

What I'll need:

I chose the Garnier BB Cream because it gives me excellent coverage and can be applied quickly with my fingers. If you've got great skin, just skip this step altogether. (I'm jealous...)

To cover my dark circles, (after Christmas Eve festivities this is a must for me!) I picked the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer Dark Circle Eraser shade. This is super easy to blend in with my fingers as well and definitely helps me to look more awake.

To add a bit of color to my cheeks and lips, I would choose a product that does double duty such as the Becca Beach Tint. I can also use my fingers to lightly blend it onto my cheeks for a healthy flush and also apply it to my lips to add a bit of extra color. As an added bonus, there's no transfer, so all those Christmas morning kisses don't end up leaving lipstick marks on your loved ones!

I have no problem going without filling in my brows and just using a spoolie and brow gel to tame them into place. But, if you cannot do without a bit of brow definition, opt for a pencil as I find it to be the quickest method.

Lastly, I gotta grab that eyelash curler to curl my super straight lashes and then add some waterproof mascara. Maybelline's The Rocket is my waterproof mascara of choice. I highly recommend waterproof mascara because you never know...you may get that gift from Santa that makes you all weepy! I don't know about you, but I can do without the mascara running down my face!

And of course, there's the dreaded "bed head". Throwing it up in a messy bun or ponytail is an easy option if you have longer hair, but if not...a Santa hat is going to be your best friend!

Of course, any makeup application may not be practical at all...especially if you've got little ones jumping onto your bed at 5 a.m. begging to open their presents! But, if you do have a few minutes this may just be the solution for you!

What will you do Christmas morning? Leave your comments down below, I love hearing from you guys! Please follow me on all my social media. REVIEW! Gucci Luxurious Moisture Lipstick

Hi my lovelies! I wanted to share a quick review with you on Gucci's new Luxurious Moisture Lipstick in "Nude Satin". Gucci is well known for it's fragrances but the makeup line only launched on June 4, 2014. Their new cosmetics line consists of lipsticks, liners, glosses, eyeshadows, as well as nail and skin products.

I decided to dip my toe into the water and purchased the color "Nude Satin" in their new "Luxurious Moisture Lipstick" collection. There are two formulas, the "Luxurious Moisture Lipstick" and "Audacious Color Intense Lipstick".

I purchased mine from Neiman Marcus, but you can find their entire beauty collection on Gucci's website www.gucci.com. At a pricey $39.00 I wanted to make sure I got a color that I would wear often and chose the shade "Nude Satin", a neutral, medium pink shade.

First the packaging is just absolutely stunning! A sleek black tube with Gucci's logo on the lid and stamped into the gold interior bullet in a quilt-like pattern. Soooo pretty!!!

The minute I saw the shade I immediately thought "It's a dead ringer for NARS' "Audacious Lipstick" in the shade Anna". (Which I love!!!)  But that's where the similarities end. The Gucci formula has a creamy, satin finish. It is quite sheer and I had to go over my hand swatch several times to build the color.

(I apologize for the out of focus shot...dang shaky hands!)  I knew just by swatching it on my hand that it was going to be very difficult to build the color on my lips. It is super creamy, but also very sheer. Unfortunately it didn't show up on my lips at all. I wouldn't even call it a "my lips but better" shade because of how sheer it applied. However, it is extremely comfortable on the lips and it is quite moisturizing as well. It has a rather unpleasant scent (to me it seems to be almost a spicy "perfume-y" scent) and definitely an unpleasant taste. You do not want to lick your lips with this lipstick...trust me!

I don't hate this formula, I'm just not convinced that it is worth the steep $39.00 price tag. Maybe in a different shade it would have been better, but I don't think I can get over the taste. Blech!

This is just one product from the new Gucci makeup line and I do look forward to trying out some of their other products, but this lipppie just wasn't my cup of tea.

That's it for now my lovelies! You can follow me on Instagram @beautography_by_bruch and my Twitter @ReneeBruchPhoto. Also check out my facebook page at www.Facebook.com/ReneeBruchPhotography and my official website www.reneebruch.com.

My Favorite YouTubers

Hi everyone! I'm going to try my best to keep this post short. (Yeah...I know...I suck at that.) Today I want to let you know about my favorite YouTubers and why I think they are so great. Most of these ladies are very well known and it will probably be no shock to you that they are in this post. And of course I will link all their channels. A little background information about me and "beauty gurus" and the world of makeup on YouTube and Instagram. It was probably about 2 years ago (give or take a little) and I knew NOTHING about makeup other than how to make myself look somewhat presentable. I owned Bare Minerals foundation, a few blush shades and some random drugstore eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara and a couple of lipsticks. That was the extent of my makeup collection.  When I decided to get into photography full time, I would do the makeup and hair on my lovelies and even though I was just doing basic things, they loved it. One day I was searching for different hair braiding techniques for an upcoming shoot and I stumbled across my very first beauty channel on YouTube. Out of curiosity, I decided to have a look and the rest was history. Who was that first YouTuber you ask? None other than Emily Eddington.

It was by total accident that I came across Emily's channel, but after watching a few videos, I was hooked! She is extremely well spoken, intelligent, beautiful and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to makeup...especially drugstore. She probably is the one out of my favorites that reviews and uses the most drugstore items.

Emily is also very special to me in other ways. Just as I started my blog and got a Twitter account I think I mentioned her in a blog post and tweeted her. Next thing I know, she is following my blog and commenting on it. Me, a nobody who was just dipping my feet into the water of the makeup world had my favorite YouTuber giving me advice, encouraging me and helping to get my name out there a little bit by retweeting my blog posts. So, while I love all the other ladies I'll be mentioning...Emily's was the first channel I subscribed to and am grateful that I found her, because without her channel...I probably wouldn't be doing what I do today. Alot of my makeup collection in the beginning was built on reviews and recommendations from her. So, thank you Emily for being an inspiration to me. (She also has a second channel that gives quick reviews 5 days a week that are about 5 minutes long.)

Main channel: www.youtube.com/user/emilynoel83

Express channel (quick reviews): www.youtube.com/user/beautybroadcastx

NikkieTutorials: This lovely young lady is my most recent find and I'm obsessed with her channel. She is from Holland and started her channel about 5 years ago at the age of 15. At the young age of 20, she is already extremely successful in her field and has worked at some high profile events and TV shows. She gives some of the best tutorials on YouTube and I highly recommend that you check out her channel if you haven't heard of her. She deserves waaaayyyy more subscribers than she has. Not only is she extremely talented and gorgeous, she's also very funny and a joy to watch. Her channel is mostly tutorials, but she does do hauls and favorites, etc. Her personality is off the charts bubbly and sweet and you can't help but fall in love with her. And I learn so much from her when it comes to makeup application it's unbelievable. She gives fantastic step by step tutorials.

www.youtube.com/user/NikkieTutorials

JACLYN HILL: Do I even need to explain why I love her? So incredibly knowledgeable, and coupled with her talent and beauty it makes her the epitome of a triple threat when it comes to beauty gurus. I think she talks the most quickly on all of the ladies I'm mentioning, which is fine by me because I do the same thing! I love watching her and learning about more of the high end side of makeup. She doesn't snub drugstore products by any means, she just happens to include more high end products in her videos. I've gotten alot of my high end makeup based off of her reviews and learned alot about makeup application from her.. And her bloopers at the end of her videos are priceless and hysterical. It shows that she's a real person that stumbles over her words, that gets excited over music and will make silly faces at the camera and let you see that side of her. Which is awesome!

MAKEUP BY ALLI: I found Alli in the weirdest way...how to make a messy topknot. (I still can't do it.) But I loved her personality right from the beginning and knew immediately she would become a favorite of mine. Her channel is probably the best at combining knowledge about drugstore and high end items equally. Alli also gives excellent tutorials. I feel as if she is the best "everywoman" when it comes to "beauty gurus". The girl next door type...which is what I love most about her.

LEIGHANNSAYS:  I don't know if I would classify Leighann's channel as a full-on "beauty channel". She does a little bit of everything. From tutorials to Q&A videos. I found her by watching another YouTuber's channel and she just happened to be in the video. I also heard Emily Eddington mention her. She's funny, witty, drop dead gorgeous and humble. Just watch one of her haul videos and you'll see what I mean. She also includes outtakes at the end of her videos, which is something I love to see!

www.youtube.com/user/leighannsays

IISUPERWOMANII: (iiSuperwomanii) Superwoman's name is actually Lily. She is just sheer hilarity in a beautiful package. Her channel isn't a beauty channel, it's just straight up comedy. She plays characters (usually her "mummy" and "daddy") and is just so funny I can't stand it. Millions of subscribers cannot be wrong. I can't say anything else about her other than she is truly and utterly hilarious. Check her out...I guarantee you'll love her.

GRAV3YARD GIRL:  Grav3yard Girl's name is actually Bunny Meyers. A total crazed little dynamo in a teeny package. Bunny puts out the most videos (she usually tries to get one up everyday) and they are everything from beauty and makeup to trying out those silly "As Seen on TV" things to see if they really work. I stumbled across her when she was trying out a heated eyelash curler...don't ask me how I got there, but I did. LOL And, I found Leighannsays through Grav3yard Girl's channel because they live in the same city and did a collab video. Bunny thinks of her subscribers as a family...her "Swamp Family" and encourages all of her subscribers to think of each other as "Swamp Family" members too. Millions subscribe to her because Bunny is always totally herself and doesn't give a crap what people think about her. She often appears on camera with messy hair, no makeup, and always just being Bunny. A bit wacky, but under all of that beats a heart of pure gold. She spreads messages of self-love, anti-bullying and often speaks about her own anxiety issues. She is completely "kid friendly"...no foul language and is a quirky and silly person who is just being herself and wants to make people laugh. And she succeeds. Some may find her to be a bit "much" but if you can't be yourself on YouTube...then you shouldn't be on YouTube. 'Nuff said!

Well, there are my favorites. Of course I'm subscribed to alot of other YouTubers and I think all of them are all very talented and have different reasons that I subscribe to them. These ladies have all inspired me in one way or another, which is why I watch them. I am thoroughly entertained and that's what I want when I watch YouTube videos. Make me laugh or smile and you've got a subscriber!

That's all for now my lovelies. Who are YOUR favorite YouTubers and why? Leave me your comments down below, I would love to hear from you! Review! Tarte "Pin Up Girl" Blush Palette

Hi my lovelies! Did everyone spend all of their money on the numerous holiday sets that the cosmetics companies are putting out? I did pretty well, kept my composure...and spent too much money. But I was calm while doing so. But now I'm losing my composure because the credit card bills are going to be rolling in. Eeeeek!

Today I'm going to review Tarte's "Pin Up Girl" blush palette they put out for the holidays. I'll be honest, I was a bit ambivalent about this palette when I received it and seriously contemplated sending it back. However, the more I looked at it and used it, the more I fell in love with it. Tarte did a fantastic job of coming up with some really beautiful packaging. A golden clutch (which I feel looks a bit "distressed") and added a couple of functional bobby pins to the front patterned ribbon. How cute is that?

The clutch opens much like a clutch purse would with a push button in the front embossed with the brand name "Tarte". It snaps closed, but sometimes you kind of have to force it and the button on mine seems a bit wobbly. Let's hope it holds up! But all in all, I think the packaging is really clever.

This palette is exclusive to Sephora from what I understand (it is not on Tarte's website) and the cost is $42.00. The palette contains 5 brand new, limited edition shades and the range of shades (as you'll see below) is really quite good. I took 3 photographs in different lighting so you could get a good look at the shades. I took photos of the hand swatches in direct sunlight.

As you can see, there is alot of variety in the colors that Tarte chose to include in this palette. The first photo is away from any direct sunlight. The last two are in direct sunlight at different angles. The colors in the palette from left to right are as follows:

BREATHLESS:  A matte almost nude peachy shade that will give an extremely natural look on the lightest of skin tones. I believe that this would not really show up with much color on anything other than the fairest of skin. But this would work very well as a transition shade in the crease for an eye look.

EMBRACED:  The only shade in the palette that I would call a shimmer. It is a deep mauve shade with plum undertones. It gives off quite a bit of sheen in a heavy swatch, but on the cheeks it's not as intense as  you see here in my hand swatches. I feel that this is the most unique of all the shades in the palette and is perfect for fall!

WHIMSY:  A matte babydoll pink shade if I've ever seen one! Not a very unique shade for a blush, but it's still very pretty and a nice addition to the palette. We all need a straight up pink blush sometimes!

BASHFUL:  In the pan this matte shade looks blatantly peach, however when swatched you can see the slight pink undertones. This comes off as more peachy on the cheeks when blended out and the slight pinkyness (is that a word?) isn't very apparent.

IRREPLACEABLE:  I completely agree with the name Tarte gave this shade. It is a matte rose pink that is also going to be a great fall and winter shade. I'm in love with this color!

All in all, I think that this palette is definitely worth the $42.00. Especially when you consider the price of a regular full size Tarte blush. And these shades are also limited edition. I would definitely recommend my fellow blush junkies pick up this palette.

I hope that you all enjoyed this post and that it was helpful to you. Please feel free to comment below with your thoughts, I love to hear from you all! You can also find me on all my social media. My Top 10 Neglected Makeup Products

Hi everyone! Today I decided to do a post and put my shame out for the world to see. I went through my makeup and skincare and picked out 10 items that I have hardly used or don't ever reach for. It's nothing against the products, I actually quite like most of them, however I just don't seem to use them.

I have a composite picture of everything which I have numbered and I will go through each number below and try to give an explanation as to why I don't use that particular item. (I realize this is a bit of a jumble and I apologize for the overcrowded photo.)

1. E.L.F. Cosmetics "Little Black Beauty Book" Warm Edition:  I picked this up on the advice of a YouTuber and I figured I would love it. I find that the shadows aren't as pigmented and easy to work with and there aren't any especially unusual shades in the palette.

2. Michael Todd Skincare "Anti Aging Facelift" mask: This is a good mask and works well. I got an AMAZING deal on it (Michael Todd skincare is expensive!) but only used this about 3 times.

3. Wet 'n Wild 3-pan palettes: I love Wet 'n Wild's eyeshadow formula for these little 3 pans, but I just don't grab for them...even for simple looks I tend to whip out a larger palette.

4. Avon Super Shock Gel Eyeliner in "Velvet Plum": Another item I saw on YouTube and thought that it would be a great alternative to black liner. I find it a bit dry and patchy to apply and it isn't as opaque as it seems in the pot and you have to go over the line a couple times. (There will be a swatch photo in this post.)

5.  Christian Dior Highlighter/Blush:  This a beautiful baby pink blush/highlighter. I would only use this as a topper to a pink blush or as a straight up highlight...except that I don't like the way it looks on me. I bought this from Poshmark (which is why it is a tester and doesn't have the fancy Dior packaging.)

6.  Miscellaneous Colored Eyeliners: Just don't use 'em very much...so they sit there. Lovely colors, great formulas...no love given.

7.  Estée Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in "Violet Electra":  OH MY...what is wrong with me???? Just look at the picture below...fabulous color! The texture does bug me a bit because it has some shimmer in it, but I don't think I've worn this more than once. ONCE PEOPLE! (I can hear the heckling...)

**Above left to right: Dior Blush/Highlighter; Avon Velvet Plum Gel Eyeliner; Estée Lauder Pure Color lipstick "Violet Electra"**

8.  Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Shadows: I really do adore these things...ALOT! But, once again...my brain betrays me and I usually totally forget to use them. And as you can see...I have plenty of them!

9.  Urban Decay Naked 3 palette: I loved this palette when I first got it. The formula, the colors, all of it...then I just didn't like it anymore. It sits in a drawer completely overlooked by me.

10. Tarte Cosmetics "Gorgeous Getaways" 2013 Christmas gift set: This is perhaps the WORST incident of a makeup lover being completely neglectful of a product. I bought this last year and did a blog post review which I will link if you are interested in checking it out. http://blog.reneebruch.com/2013/11/review-tartes-gorgeous-getaways-holiday.html

While I love Tarte's shadows and really do enjoy this set, the packaging makes it so bulky to store and it sits in one of my Alex drawers. I have only used the eyeshadows three times and I occasionally will grab for it when looking for a blush color. Other than that...I'm just ashamed of myself...

So I hoped  you all enjoyed this post and I will be back soon with another review or look or something for you all!  Please feel free to leave your comments down below. I love hearing from you! Kylie Jenner Lip?

Hello my lovelies! Today's post is going to be about lipsticks that are Kylie Jenner inspired. We all know that YouTube, Instagram, and bloggers everywhere have been on the hunt for that perfect Kylie Jenner 90s lippie. However, this post actually came about because of a lovely follower of mine on Instagram named Helen. Check her out @hellybellyxo. She's a beautiful lady and a fellow makeup lover! It all stemmed from a question she posted on another Instagrammer's page asking if Milani's "Teddy Bare" was a dupe for Gerard Cosmetic's "1995". So, I decided to look into it and discovered that I had several lipsticks that can be considered inspired by Kylie Jenner's signature lip look. So before I even post a photo, let's answer Helen's question shall we? Is Milani's "Teddy Bare" a dupe for Gerard Cosmetic's "1995"? Short answer...Nope! And it will be obvious in the photos below. I chose four lipsticks to highlight in this post and they are from left to right in the photo below: Gerard Cosmetic's "1995"; Milani Color Statement Lipstick in "Teddy Bare"; Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Rose Velvet" and Charlotte Tilbury's K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in "Stoned Rose". For the lip swatches I blanked out my natural lip color with foundation so that the true color of the lipstick is shown. I used Jordana's lipliner in "Tawny" for all of the lip swatches and overdrew my natural lip line a bit. (It ain't pretty...don't judge! LOL)

They all look very similar lined up next to one another, but they show definite differences in swatches as shown below:

I'm going to start with the lipstick that was so highly anticipated that on it's launch date it crashed Gerard Cosmetic's website! I am referring to the infamous "1995" lipstick created by YouTuber and awesome makeup artist Jaclyn Hill in conjunction with Gerard Cosmetics. If you haven't yet, check out her YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/Jaclynhill1. She has such extensive knowledge and experience and gives fantastic tutorials. (Oh...and did I mention she's flippin' gorgeous?)

Let's start with Gerard Cosmetic's "1995":

"1995" retails for $19.99 and can be purchased from www.gerardcosmetics.com (Check Jaclyn Hill's YouTube channel for coupon codes!) This is a matte formula that I find a bit drying (but that's my personal preference...I've never been a huge fan of matte lipstick) so I will wear it with a light lip balm under it and a lip balm over top. It is a deep brown with a definite "brick red" vibe. It goes on smoothly with one swipe and with full color. (I messed it up while applying for this photo. DANG!) It's a beautiful shade, although it's a bit dark for my personal preference. I use it lightly by dabbing it on with my finger. The staying power on this lipstick is amazing!

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in "Teddy Bare":

"Teddy Bare" retails for $5.99 and can be found at Walgreens stores or on Milani's website at www.milanicosmetics.com. While this can be considered a "nude" shade, I would describe it as a "brown nude" with a hint of a peachy undertone. This is a creme formula and comes off with quite a bit of shine, and as you can see in the photo, it doesn't sit quite right on my lips. However, it is oh so creamy and super comfortable to wear. I love Milani Color Statement lipsticks, this one just isn't for me to wear on it's own. You will need to reapply but the wear time is comparable to other creme formula nude lippies.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Rose Velvet" #130:

"Rose Velvet" retails for $7.99 and can be found at your local Walgreens, CVS, Target, etc. I've actually had this color for quite awhile but rarely wear it. This is a lighter brown with a slightly pinkish undertone. It's not so prominent that you think "pink brown", but it's definitely there. It's a creme formula and as all of the Revlon Super Lustrous line it's very comfortable to wear. There isn't a lot of shine with this shade and I can get away with not reapplying for about 3 hours if I am not eating or drinking.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in "Stoned Rose":

"Stoned Rose" retails for $32.00 and I purchased mine from www.beautylish.com. I did a whole blog review on items I purchased from the Charlotte Tilbury line...this lipstick being one of them. To take a quote from my previous review: "The K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks are very creamy in texture and go on sheer or can be built up to full color. Filled with essential oils, UV protection and special waxes this lipstick is very comfortable to wear. It does not bleed outside the lipline. "Stoned Rose" is a lovely slightly brown rose that is a terrific neutral for everyday." This color is almost identical to "Rose Velvet" on the lips. It appears more orangeish (is that a word?) in a hand swatch, but it doesn't come across on the lips orange at all. Very smooth and goes on with quite a bit of shine.

When it all comes down to whether or not these brownish shades are that "Kylie Jenner lip" everyone raves about, I'd have to say "sorta". I believe that "1995" is definitely very close...especially due to the fact that it is matte. I've seen so many photos of Kylie Jenner and I feel that her signature matte lip is more of a mauve toned light brown. Regardless, all four of these lipsticks are beautiful and have their own special personality!

I hope you enjoyed this post (from a brochitis ridden blogger such as myself!) and that it helps you out! Please comment down below with your thoughts, I love hearing from you. And don't forget to follow me on Instagram @beautography_by_bruch and on Twitter @ReneeBruchPhoto. Also, please "like" my Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/ReneeBruchPhotography and check out my official website at www.reneebruch.com.  That's all for now my lovelies!

REVIEW! Charlotte Tilbury makeup

Hello my lovelies! I know it's been so, so long since you've seen a review, let alone a post from me! Today I will be reviewing several items from the Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics line. Based in the UK, it was just recently brought to the website Beautylish. http://www.beautylish.com . Just a warning, this is going to be a very photo heavy post because I created 2 different looks using several items I picked up from the Charlotte Tilbury line.

The first thing I will say is that Beautylish and Charlotte Tilbury has made it incredibly easy to choose a total "look" and have provided guidance on which items you would need to recreate the 10 different looks. You are also able to watch short videos in which Charlotte Tilbury herself shows how to create a daytime look and a nighttime look for each of the 10 looks.  While I don't have all of the products that she used, I have the main items. Photographs, names and details below:

Let's talk packaging for a moment. It is absolutely stunning and I love the classic and clean look.

I chose the following items:

Eyeshadow The Luxury palette in "The Dolce Vita" - $52.00
*There are a total of 8 eyeshadow palettes.

I chose this palette because it was very neutral with just the right amount of drama. These shadows are buttery, creamy and an absolute cinch to blend. Each shadow in the palette has a specific purpose and  is named for that purpose. The shades are numbered and go clockwise: 1. "Prime" (a slightly creamy golden color with light shimmer); 2. "Enhance" (A matte burgundy brown shade that can be used lightly in the crease or built up.); 3. "Smoke" (a deep brown shade with a hint of a satin finish. I detect a very slight olive tone in this shade as well) and 4. "Pop" (A highly shimmery golden color that is perfect for the center of the lids to give it that extra "oomph" for nighttime). Please see swatches in natural light below. Left to right: "Prime", "Enchance", "Smoke" & "Pop". That "Pop" shade is amazing!!!

Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in "Ecstasy" - $40
*There are total of 6 "Cheek to Chic" blushes

This compact contains two different shades. This particular blush has a subtle peach/pink outer right with a brighter "pop" color in the center which is to be used just to pop a bit of extra color right on the apples of the cheeks. I detect a slight glow to these shades, but it is not overwhelming on the cheeks at all. Very smooth and easily blendable. Just lovely! Swatches in natural light below: From left to right: "Swish" and "Pop".

K.I.S.S.I.N.G  lipstick in "Stoned Rose" - $32
*There are a total of 10 lipstick shades ranging from lovely nudes to gorgeous reds.

The K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks are very creamy in texture and go on sheer or can be built up to full color. Filled with essential oils, UV protection and special waxes this lipstick is very comfortable to wear. It does not bleed outside the lipline. "Stoned Rose" is a lovely slightly brown rose that is a terrific neutral for everyday.

Lip Lustre Lip Gloss in "Ibiza Nights" - $22
*There are a total of 11 shades of Lip Lustre. (I believe that "Ibiza Nights" is the only one with shimmer.)

Website quote: "Lip Lustre is a super luxe, high-gloss lacquer that gives your lips a brilliant mirror-shine finish, creating the illusion of a 3-dimensional, voluptuous pout." I was especially drawn to this color because it was used in the tutorial I watched and has a lovely sheer yet shimmery finish. The perfect wear alone gloss or as a topper to any neutral lipstick. It really does make the lips look extra luscious. Swatches of lipstick and lip lustre in natural daylight down below: Top - "Stoned Rose" and Bottom: "Ibiza Nights"

Just as shown in the short tutorial films Charlotte Tilbury performed on Beautylish, I decided to create two different looks using these products. The first is a light daytime look using all the products with the exception of the lipstick.

I used only three shades in the eyeshadow palette. The Prime, Enhance and Smoke shades and created a very neutral daytime eye look.  I used the "Swish" part of the blush on the back of my cheeks and used the "Pop" shade on the apples of my cheeks. To finish the look I used the Lip Lustre "Ibiza Nights" for some shine on my lips.

I then took things up a notch and added some drama to my look by just adding some more color from "The Dolce Vita" eye palette. Using my finger I applied the "Pop" shade to the center of my lids giving it a lovely golden glow and also took it into my tear duct. I deepened the crease with the "Enhance" and "Smoke" shades. And took all three under the lashline and added black eyeliner and lashes. I also deepened the blush using the same technique as earlier and added my own highlighter. I then added the lipstick in "Stoned Rose" topped with "Ibiza Nights."

While the Charlotte Tilbury line is definitely a luxury brand I feel that it is worth every penny. The line contains many more items, such as her famous "Magic Cream", a bronzer and highlight duo, etc. I definitely plan on purchasing more of Charlotte Tilbury's makeup line in the near future.

I hope that you all enjoyed this long overdue post and that it was helpful to you. I highly recommend checking out the line. Also, there will be a special Christmas edition coming out for the season!

Why I've Been MIA

Hello my lovelies! I know it's been awhile since my last post and I've also been MIA from my Instagram account as well. I appreciate all of the support I've gotten and that you all have even noticed I've been away! LOL This is obviously not going to be a beauty post and a more personal one, so if you are afraid of my personal life - LOOK AWAY NOW! ;) I've never been shy about sharing much of my personal life, as many of you know, and I feel as if I kind of owe an explanation to my wonderful readers and Instagram followers.

I haven't been on the lam from the law or anything like that! I'm a good girl! (Sort of...) I've been dealing with some happy personal things and a few not so happy ones. I'll tell you the happy news first! WE BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE! It was a process let me tell you! Those of you that follow me on Instagram probably already know this as I've posted just a couple of pictures of our new place. We had to sell our old house and try to close on this one at about the same time. Luckily my husband took care of all the details because I would have completely lost my mind, but it was still weighing on my mind alot and there were things to be done. We are very happy with our new place and I'm thrilled that I have an office space all to myself to have plenty of room to do my photo editing. I am also planning on installing a vanity in here as well so check my Instagram for updates! We are still in the process of settling in and I'm looking forward to getting everything done because my lighting situation is a little wonky in here at the moment...but I do have a lovely view of the pool through my French doors!

Now...the not so happy stuff. Where to begin...at the beginning I guess. I've mentioned this on my IG several times so alot of you know that I struggle with a nerve disease called Restless Leg Syndrome. This is something that showed up in my early 20s and is a hereditary condition. It causes me to feel as if I have "bugs in my bones". It's a difficult feeling to describe. As the years went by it worsened (which this disease does) and it caused my legs to move and jerk and I have no control over it. The only relief I could get was to constantly move my legs. Medication helped for awhile and kept the symptoms at bay but as the disease has progressed the medication doesn't control it as well as it used to. It's now moved into my arms (which happens in severe cases) and it causes my arms to have the same symptoms, including the uncontrollable jerking. This has affected my ability to do my makeup. I haven't had makeup on in awhile because I inevitably will mess it up or jab my eyeball or something. I've tried all of the home remedies, exercise, homeopathic medicine and unfortunately medication is the only thing that has helped. So that is one problem...then something worse happened...

About a year ago I noticed that my feet started to have a pins and needles sensation and also a very painful burning. As more time went by the feelings moved up my legs all the way to my hips and became even more painful. I felt as if someone had dipped my lower body in hot coals. This was a completely different feeling from my RLS symptoms. I went on like this for months and months and finally was sent to a new doctor for further care because this had gotten to the point that I wasn't sleeping and I was a zombie all of the time. This is when I pretty much when I disappeared from my IG and blog. None of the medication I was on gave me any relief. I went through some nerve testing and I finally got a diagnosis yesterday. I have ANOTHER separate nerve condition called Small Fiber Neuropathy. Thankfully it isn't something that will lead to severe nerve damage but there is also no cure. It is a very painful condition that requires heavy duty medication. I also suffer from severe swelling in my legs and feet if I spend too much time sitting at my computer or doing my makeup. I have to wear compression stockings and keep my legs elevated as much as possible. Unfortunately we don't know yet what's causing that. :(

Prior to the diagnosis I was placed on several new meds and one of them has caused me to gain almost 25 pounds in less than two months. Obviously, this has caused me a great deal of unhappiness and depression. I would like to not be on this medication, but right now it's not something I can change. I went from being rather happy with my shape to not being able to fit into any of my clothes. I've gone up 2 sizes and not even my underwear or bras fits anymore! (Which is kind of amusing if you think about it). So...I've had to spend alot of money and buy many new wardrobe items. I will be seeing a physical therapist that will hopefully give me some pain relief and some exercises to help lose some of the weight because it's a big problem for me to have gained so much. I'm a firm believer that size does not make the person, but I'm like many other people...I have body and self-image issues and would prefer to be my old self again.

So, I hope that this was not too long and boring and that I've answered some of the questions you all may have had. There's alot of details and other minor health issues that I didn't go into (hospital visits, etc. because they do affect my absence) but I didn't because I did try to keep this as short as possible. I don't anticipate that I'll be back to my blogging and IG looks in the very near future because this is a daily struggle and I'm exhausted from lack of sleep. I will be focusing on my health for the time being and I hope that you will all bear with me and be there when I can get back to some semblance of my old self again.

I love you all and thank you!!!

HIGHLIGHTERS! High end & Drugstore!

Hello my lovelies! Today I want to share with you and give you my thoughts on some of my highlighters in my collection. I have both high end and drugstore and some are favorites of mine, and others...well...not so favorites. I took concentrated swatches and photographed them in bright sunlight so you can see not only the "sparkle factor" of each, but also the colors that I have. (Obviously you would not wear these as concentrated as the swatches so the colors are much more muted when dusted on the portions of the face you wish to highlight.) All are powders and unfortunately, some are limited edition and no longer available. I would prefer to only show ones that are available now, but it just so happens that my high end collection is mainly limited edition. So sorry! You may still be able to find them on eBay or Amazon, but at a premium price. I will let you know where I found mine. So, let's get on with it!

I'm going to start with my high end highlighters and I have four of them. You will see photos of swatches and of the packaging and a short run down of my thoughts on each one.
From left to right in both photos:

Dior "Amber Diamond":  Unfortunately, this is discontinued, but you can still find it on eBay and on Amazon but you will pay a pretty penny for it. I was lucky enough to find mine at Nordstrom online and paid the regular retail price of about $60.00. This is a golden champagne color, but you can adjust the color by controlling where you put your brush or finger because the colors are laid out in strips in the pan. This blends beautifully on the skin and has a high amount of shimmer.

MAC "Fairly Precious":  This is one of MAC'S Extra Dimension Skin Finishes from their Magnetic Nude collection and is also discontinued. However, once again, it is available on eBay and Amazon. Today I found it on eBay and Amazon for under $40.00. I got mine from Amazon awhile back. The color is a beautiful peachy shade and when applied with a light hand the glow it gives is just, well, precious! I love this for the spring and summer and wear it quite often when working with peach toned blushes. The texture is super smooth and buttery and blends out like a dream. Because this is one of their Extra Dimension Skin Finishes, I find it to be more shimmery than MAC'S Mineralize Skinfinishes.

MAC "Soft and Gentle":  This is part of MAC'S permanent line and is champagne colored. I find that the texture is not as buttery and smooth as the Extra Dimension Skin Finish, but it is nonetheless still absolutely lovely on the skin. And, as you can see, it's completely shattered because butterfingers me dropped it! (I really need to fix it!) I still love this highlight though.

Estée Lauder "Heat Wave":  Also discontinued. (I know, I know! Sorry!) This can still be found on eBay and Amazon for about $100.00. I got lucky and won an eBay auction and got mine for about $65.00. This is a straight up gold and has been compared to MAC'S "Whisper of Gilt". The packaging and design are so gorgeous I debated even ever using it but, it's just too beautiful a highlight that I must use it! This gives the perfect golden glow to the cheekbones.

I don't have a "not so favorite" in the bunch when it comes to my high end highlighters. I love all of them! Now onto my drugstore highlighters!
From left to right in both photos.

ELF Baked Highlighter "Moonlight Pearl":  This is available at Target stores and of course, Elf's website at www.eyeslipsface.com and retails for $3.00. This is a champagne color, but I find it very difficult to get any pigmentation from this product and instead of it being a fine shimmer, it is more glittery. It is also rather difficult to blend. If you like a glittery highlight this is a very affordable option. I don't like glitter on my cheeks so this is not one of my favorites.

ELF Studio Baked Blush "Pinktastic":  This is also available at Target and on Elf's website and retails for $3.00. Even though this is marketed as a blush, I find that it is much too shimmery to wear as a straight up blush. (It is much more shimmery in real life than in the photograph.) But, the color is a beautiful champagne pink and it does work well as a highlight. The texture is much more buttery than the Elf highlighter and used with a light hand it looks gorgeous on the cheekbones or lightly dusted on top of a pinky blush shade all over the cheeks for a dewy glow.

MAYBELLINE Master Hi-Light Blush "Nude":  I love this product! It is super creamy, easy to blend and is a very unique mix of bronze, champagne and peachy pink. This is also marketed as a blush, but works better as a highlight. This is available in drugstores and Ulta and retails for about $9.99. In the swatch it appears quite dark, but when used in a light dusting it leaves a more natural highlight and doesn't come off as super shimmery. I like to use this dusted all over a pink blush for extra glow on the entire cheek.

BH COSMETICS Blush Duo "Daisy":  Even though this is a "blush duo" I included it because one half of the product is a straight up highlight. You can find it on BH Cosmetics' website at www.bhcosmetics.com. It usually retails for $9.95 but is currently on sale for $4.95. This blush duo product comes in many different shades. This particular shade has a medium toned pink blush and the highlight portion is a golden shade with a hint of peach. It doesn't come off as shimmery in the concentrated swatch, but when sheered out it does give a light glow. This isn't one of my favorites however because if you aren't careful, you end up with a streaky look and it also has a bit of coverage and exaggerates my pores. Not one of my favorites. (I will say that the blush is really quite pretty and for $4.95 you can't beat the price!)

I hope that this post was helpful to you and you all enjoyed it. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments because I love hearing from you! POSHMARK! (My new addiction!)

Hello lovelies! Sorry for such a delay in posts! Here is a different kind of post for you. Have you ever discovered something fun and wonderful that all of a sudden takes up so much of your time online that you feel as if you don't have time for anything else? I'm going to tell you a little bit about a site I discovered about six weeks ago. Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have seen me share a bit about this site. It's called Poshmark and I'm ADDICTED!  (Poshmark is only available within the United States, so those of you outside the U.S....I'm sorry!)

Poshmark is a site where women list accessories, clothing, jewelry, and shoes (and more!) for sale in their "closets" so that other women can buy them at a discount. A great deal of the items are high end name brand bags, shoes and other accessories. You can find brand new items with tags still attached and some are gently used. I discovered the site by accident when a YouTuber mentioned it. (If forget who it was) and I decided I needed to check it out. I checked it out, signed up and now want to share the joys of Poshing with you all!

First of all, you can make money. Which is fantastic. I'm not talking big money, but you will eventually bring in some extra income, especially if you have designer brands to sell. Secondly, you can find brand new designer items for more than 50% off depending on the price the seller is asking. So far I've acquired a Coach bag, Michael Kors bag and wallet, and an adorable Kate Spade cross-body bag.  I've listed alot of my gold and silver jewelry I don't wear (and a bit of clothing) and have made more money that I had expected!

Here's how it works:

1.  You have to sign up. You can sign up through Facebook or an e-mail. (I signed up by e-mail.)
2.  You will have to create a "closet", but you don't have to add any items for sale. It's just so you will be able to purchase items.
3.  If you are a seller, Poshmark takes a 20% cut of what you sell. (YIKES! I know it is alot, but there's a reason.) Poshmark provides alot of support and also offers safeguards and other services that many other sites do not. For instance, I bought an item and it turned out to be counterfeit. So, I contacted their support center and they opened an inquiry and I got my full purchase amount back including the shipping charges.
4.  The buyer pays for shipping and Poshmark actually provides the seller with a USPS Priority Mail (not flat rate) shipping label that the seller just prints from their computer. You are able to track the package as well. Easy peasy!
5.  If you are the seller, package up (MAKE IT PRETTY!) what your buyer has purchased and send it through the mail!
6.  Once it is received and accepted by the buyer, your funds are released and you can redeem them by shopping on Poshmark and using the funds as credit, OR have them direct deposited into your bank account. And just because you ask for funds to be direct deposited once, it's not an automatic thing. You have to choose each time you want to redeem. If you don't ask for certain funds to be direct deposited and choose to shop, Poshmark deducts the price from your redeemable funds.

It's very user friendly and the sign up process is easy. Once you've signed up you are ready to shop and/or sell your items! Say you want to find a Michael Kors handbag. There's a search section and all you do is put in the keywords of what you're looking for. You can also search for clothing and shoes by your size. Most Poshers will also negotiate prices. (But don't lowball...we hate that. LOL)

There are rules that you have to follow as a seller, but it's all outlined in their FAQs section. For instance, no counterfeit items. (Duh!) You also cannot sell homegoods, men's items, children's items, perfume or used makeup. (New makeup is allowed. I know of a young lady that sells MAC Cremesheen lippies in alot of colors and trust me...they are 100% authentic and at an excellent discount.) Think of it as a site where the only thing you can sell is what a woman can wear. The Poshmark community is much like Instagram. You have followers, you share items and the more followers and shares you do of your items and others items, the better your chance of having sales!

So, that's pretty much it. I'm sure I've left out alot of stuff, so if you have any questions feel free to ask me or to check out Poshmark. It's well worth your time if you want that MK bag you've been eyeballing but can't afford it, or even a pair of Christian Louboutin stillettos!

Thanks to all my lovelies for taking the time to read through this post and I hope you visit my closet! My closet is www.poshmark.com/closet/beautography and in it you'll find real and costume jewelry (at a HUGE discount) as my closet is very jewelry heavy. Please join me and the millions of other women who love Poshmark! Happy Poshing as we all say!

Don't forget about my other sites though! My official website at www.reneebruch.com and my Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/ReneeBruchPhotography and to also follow me on Twitter @ReneeBruchPhoto and my new Instagram @Beautography_by_Bruch. Bye for now!
