"Failsafe Face for Fall"

Do you need a fall makeup look but are in a hurry? This look is created using some long wearing makeup that's quick and easy to use when you don't have alot of time but will still give you a fashionable look for fall. I achieved this look by using only a 2-in-1 foundation (no powder required!), one eyeshadow, two colors of bronzer, blush and of course, the essentials...eyeliner, mascara and lip color! (I have to admit - I totally stole the one shadow trick from emilynoel83!) Here's a link so you can check out her YouTube channel - her advice, tips and tricks are amazing! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtC8m_F7jX2fGOQ3_nomg4g

First, I applied my daily moisturizer, and primed my face with Mally's Perfect Prep Poreless Primer to give me a perfectly smooth and flawless surface for my foundation. (A review of Mally's Perfect Prep Poreless Primer and Evercolor Poreless Face Defender is coming soon!) I quickly concealed my dark under eye circles using Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser because it's a very thin consistency and blends in very quickly while still adding a bit of brightness to the undereye area. Then, I moved onto foundation. Tarte's Amazonian Clay full coverage airbrush foundation (my color is light-medium neutral) is perfect for when you are in a bit of a hurry! It's a one step loose powder foundation that you just buff into your skin just like any mineral foundation. It goes on like a dream, lasts all day, requires no setting powder and leaves a matte but natural finish that's the perfect canvas for the rest of your face makeup! I used a tiny bit of Tarte's Amazonian Clay matte waterproof bronzer in "Park Ave Princess" for a quick contour and to add a bit of color to my face and topped it off with NYX blush in "Mocha". For a super subtle hightlight I used Wet & Wild Color Icon bronzer in "Reserve Your Cabana" on my cheekbones, chin and center of my forehead. (It gives the slightest hint of light without being overly shimmery.) Then I moved on to my eyes...

I chose Maybelline's Color Tattoo 24hr creme eyeshadow in "Pomegranate Punk" because it's the perfect shade for fall, doesn't require an eye primer, there's no fall out and, it stays put all day without creasing! Using my finger, I just dabbed it all over my lids and into the crease blending slightly upwards. I added a tiny bit more onto the outer corner of my eye and using a blending brush, pulled the color upwards towards the brow and blend out the edges for a nice faded look. Then I just dipped a flat shadow brush into my Wet & Wild bronzer for a brow highlight. I smudged some of the Pomegranate Punk eye color under my lashes then, using Urban Decay's double ended 24/7 pencil liner I quickly swiped "Zero" on my upper lashline and the brown color "Whisky" on the outer corner of my lower lashline and smudged with my finger. A quick curl of the lashes and my favorite mascara finished off the eye look. I kept the lip easy and natural and used Neutrogena's Moisture Smooth color stick in "Plum Perfect" because it's super easy to apply and gives a tiny bit of shine to the lips without the need for a gloss!  I always keep a neutral color of this lipstick in my purse for emergencies!

This look was so quick and easy and took so little time to accomplish that I even surprised myself with how fast I was able to finish!

Random tips:
  • Keep a pair of simple stud earrings in your purse. That way if you're in a hurry and don't have time to pick out jewelry (or forget it - which I've done so many times!) at least your ears won't be naked!
  • Keep some of your favorite oil absorbing sheets in your purse (I know you've heard this before!) They work great and they've been a lifesaver for me on days where I've forgotten to set my makeup with a setting spray! I also keep a pack in my photography bag for quick touch ups on location.
  • Keep a neutral color of Neutrogena's moisture smooth color stick in your purse at all times for emergencies. They feel like butter on the lips and pack enough shine so that you don't really need a gloss. I keep one in every bag! I've lost count of the number of times of forgotten to stash my daily lipcolor in my bag and just bolted out of the house!
I hope that you liked this look and that it was helpful for you on those busy days when you just don't have a ton of time to get ready but still want to look flawless and polished.
